The Char Dham Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage to four holy shrines in the Garhwal Himalayas. A guided package handles travel, stay and meals so devotees can focus on the darshan.
The four dhams
- Yamunotri: Source of the Yamuna.
- Gangotri: Origin of the Ganga.
- Kedarnath: Dedicated to Lord Shiva.
- Badrinath: Dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Duration
A road-based Char Dham yatra usually takes around 10 to 12 days from Haridwar or Rishikesh.
Season
The yatra usually begins around late April or May and continues until about Diwali, when the temples close for winter.
Options
If you have fewer days, choose the Do Dham (Kedarnath and Badrinath) or a single-dham Kedarnath yatra.
