Devprayag is one of the five sacred confluences (Panch Prayag) of Uttarakhand, and the point where the Ganga takes its name.
What to see
The Sangam is visible from the viewpoint, where the two rivers are clearly different in colour. The Raghunath Temple, an old temple here, is also worth a visit.
How to reach
It is about 70 km from Rishikesh, around 2 hours by road, on the way to Srinagar (Garhwal), Chopta and Badrinath.
Best time
October to March for clear weather. During monsoon the rivers are in flow, but landslides are possible.
Tip
Combine it with a Rishikesh-Chopta trip rather than going separately.
